#i think there’s so much to be said about dean’s pre oh-my-family-is-dying-and-i-might-have-to-kill-my-brother mentality #and what insight it gives into the winchester family unit #dean’s having fun #dean’s a hero #dean gets to save the day and get the world and i don’t really think that his life is real to him #like in after school special he justifies cheating on that girl because he’s a hero#because their relationship wasn’t real #because he was just having fun #because his life isn’t real relationships outside of sam and john #the people that are not winchesters are not people to him #they’re bodies that he saves and if he can’t he moves on #it’s not until john dies that dean gets hit in the face with reality #with the actual sacrifice of being a hero #that it’s not fun because real heroes make the sacrifice play
